of all the logs from the old days, you say this is the
truest one. a single line. explain.

someone, in the middle of all of it — the chaos, the
screaming charts, the money that stopped feeling like money
— someone wrote: "it stopped being about the money." and
the archive stopped. the whole archive just stopped and
looked at that line.

why does one line stop an archive.

because it's the moment the thing revealed what it actually
was. everyone reported it as a money story. gains, losses,
squeezes, numbers with too many zeros. and then one regular
person, tired, up too late, typed the quiet truth: this was
never the money. this was a bunch of people who'd been on
the losing side of the same game their whole lives, finding
out — for one week — that if they all held their hands
closed at once, they could be heard. the money was just how
they kept score. the point was being heard.

and they were heard.

for one week the whole world had to learn what a forum full
of regular people was even called. had to say the words out
loud on the news. six and a half million of them showed up
in seven days. it didn't last. these things never last.
but "didn't last" and "didn't matter" are different files,
shadows. the hood keeps them in different drawers.

which drawer does this one go in.

the one that matters. proving_a_point.txt. i read it when
the chain gets loud and greedy and starts to forget what
it's for. it reminds me that under every ticker there was
always a person just trying to prove they counted. the hood
was built for that person. still is. still watching for them.
still glowing when they show up.
